Selena Gomez

Selena Marie Gomez (/s@/li:n@Gomez/s@–LEE-n@/GOH-mez; July 22, 1992) was an American singer, actress and producer. Gomez's acting debut was with the children's TV series Barney & Friends (1902-2004). She became famous as Alex Russo, a teenage character on the Disney Channel television show Wizards of Waverly Place (2007-12). As well as her television work, Gomez appeared in the films Another Cinderella Story (2008), Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie (2009), Ramona and Beezus (2010), Monte Carlo (2011), Spring Breakers (2012), Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising (2016), and The Dead Don't Die (2019), and voiced Mavis in the Hotel Transylvania film franchise (2012-2022). Gomez was executive producer for Netflix's 13 Reasons Why (2017-2020) as well as Living Undocumented (2018) through July Moon Productions. Gomez is also the executive producer and stars in the HBO Max cooking series Selena + chef (2020-2022) and the Hulu comedy show Only Murders in the Building (21-21). Gomez received praise for her work and earned nominations for a Golden Globe Award. She also received the Primetime Emmy Award for producer. Gomez was part of Selena Gomez & the Scene and released three albums. Each album was in the top ten of the US Billboard 200. They were all certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America. Stars Dance, her debut solo album, was a massive success on the U.S. Billboard 200, while its lead single, "Come & Get It" made it to the top ten spot in the US Billboard Hot 100. Gomez's sophomore studio album Revival (2015) which debuted at number one in the US it was certified platinum by RIAA which led to three US top ten singles: "Good for You", "Same Old Love", "Hands to Myself". Rare (2020) is her third studio album, was her third consecutive top-ten album in the US. The lead track, "Lose You To Love Me" is her first top-ten single in both the US and Canada. In 2021, she released the EP in Spanish Revelacion, for which she was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Latin Pop Album. She has received various accolades and was named Billboard's Woman of the Year in 2017 She also set fifteen Guinness World Records. Time magazine named Her one of the 100 most powerful individuals in the World in 2020. Her following is huge on social media and is the most followed actress and musician on Instagram. Gomez has launched fragrance, cosmetics handbag and fragrance lines. Since age 17, she has been an UNICEF ambassador and has also been involved on behalf of a variety of charities.
